'Aadujeevitham' fame Najeeb's granddaughter passes away

HARIPAD: The granddaughter of Najeeb, the real-life protagonist in the award-winning novel ‘Goat Days’, died on Sunday. The grieving comes at a time when the movie adaption of the novel, is about to hit theatres after a massive promotion.

Safa Maryam (one-year-old), daughter of Najeeb’s son Safir is the deceased. Safa Maryam was admitted to Alappuzha Medical College on Friday night due to suffocation but died at 4:30 am on Sunday. She is the only daughter of the Safir-Mubina couple.

Safir, who is a supervisor at Nesto Hypermarket in Wadi Kabir, Muscat, will reach Haripad on Sunday morning. The burial will be held at Juma Masjid Kabarstan on Sunday.

Benyamin, the author of the novel ‘Goat Days’ expressed his condolences on the death. He shared the sad news through a Facebook post.
